Jerk Ribs

Jerk is a style of cooking native to Jamaica in which meat is dry-rubbed or wet marinated with a hot and spicy Jamaican jerk blend. The most common meats used for jerk are chicken and pork, but beef, goat, and meats can also be used.

Jerk ribs are a popular Jamaican dish.

This recipe is easy to follow and yields delicious, fall-off-the-bone ribs that are packed with flavor.

Ribs are a classic BBQ dish, and there are endless ways to prepare them. If you’re looking for something a little different, try this Jamaican jerk rib recipe. The bold flavors of the jerk marinade give the ribs a unique and delicious flavor.

Jerk rub typically involves a blend of spices like allspice, ginger, thyme, and chili peppers.


Ingredients:


1 lbs. Ribs

Ginger

thyme

Chili pepper

Allspice

Paprika

Garlic

Black pepper

Date syrup (or honey)

Olive oil


Barbecue Sauce :

Brown sugar

Vinegar

Wet jerk rub

Worcestershire sauce

Lime juice

Ginger


Instructions:


Start by cleaning Ribs . In this recipe I am using a instapot so I cut the ribs into piece if grilling no need to.


Next add 1 tsp of olive oil , ginger , thyme , allspice , paprika and garlic to ribs in a large mixing . Add 4 tbs of date syrup or honey and coat evenly .


Add ribs to instapot on a rack then add 1/4 cup of vinegar and water to bottom of pot . Set on high and cook for 45 min. It’s important to let the lever on the instapot drop on its own to have the fall of the bone ribs .


After take ribs out and place on a rack baking sheet add Barbecue sauce and broil for 5-10mins .


This is great serves with plantains and mango salsa.


Plantains : simply cut add olive oil and pinch of salt bake on 425 until golden brown about 10-15min.

bell peppers

onion

cilantro

lime juice

Jalapeño
